The Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum fosters an understanding of the American experience through the stories of Waukesha county. Established in 1906, WCHSM is one of Wisconsin's oldest, continuous, member-based historical societies.
WCHSM serves as a resource for historic inquiry, preservation, and education in the region. Services provided include a public access research center, on and offsite education programs for audiences of all ages, and operation of the Waukesha County Museum (under renovation, re-opening early 2018). Our quarterly Landmark Magazine has been published since 1958.
Through our museum and archive we are proud to preserve 18,000 artifacts and more than one million documents. Our exhibits and education programs reach youth and adults from all walks of life and all over the world.
We serve Waukesha County and beyond as an educational and cultural resource, while preserving and sharing the County's history.
Our vision is to be a dynamic cultural resource and premier destination point for the region.
